Explore the WLU Field
Whole Life Times is part of a wider developing field of interconnected publishing, education, dialogue, health, ecological and enterprise initiatives — each with its own role, yet capable of strengthening the others.
Seeing Whole Life Times in its wider context
The Whole Life Universal Field is not simply a collection of websites or projects. It is intended as an evolving field of relationships through which knowledge, dialogue, learning, practical application, enterprise and participation can reinforce one another in the service of human flourishing and planetary wellbeing.
Whole Life Times has a particular role within that field: sharing ideas and stories, creating conversations, building an audience and helping people discover pathways into deeper learning, participation and practical application.
Different functions, mutually reinforcing
Within the developing Field, Whole Life Times provides a media, publishing and audience-building dimension. Gaiarcadia Academy provides a cultural and educational core through events, webinars, dialogues, articles, publications and learning. Associated enterprises and resources provide practical applications, publications, educational opportunities and sources of sustainable support.
The value lies not in making everything the same, but in allowing distinct initiatives to remain themselves while contributing to a more coherent whole.
An evolving network of relationship
The word Field is important. Whole Life Universal is better understood as a space of connection and participation than as a conventional parent organisation containing a set of subsidiaries. People may enter through an article, a Dialogue, an event, a book, a course, a health resource or an ecological initiative and then discover other connections that are relevant to them.
In that sense, the Field can grow organically: through relationships between people, knowledge, organisations, initiatives and communities rather than through a single prescribed pathway.
An idea with roots in the earliest Whole Life Times
The contemporary Whole Life Universal Field also has historical roots. In 1983 Whole Life Times described a Whole Life Universal Society whose members supported the magazine and helped promote related radio, seminar and festival initiatives. The present Field develops that early impulse on a much wider scale, using today's publishing, digital communication, education and networking possibilities to connect people and initiatives across geographic boundaries.
WLU.AU is being developed as the gateway through which the relationships among the Field's initiatives can be explored more fully.
