Summer 2021

The next issue will feature editorial and articles on the COP-26 UK Conference and it’s implications for us all this decade, one which is the most critical decade for planet Earth and all its biosphere since the dawn of evolution.

While we have lined up some great thought leaders on this theme, we nevertheless invite contributions from anyone who wishes to submit their thoughts on this matter, or any other of the sections we cover – see under Sections.

Refer us to people, or refer them to us, if you think they may make an interesting and valuable contribution.

The world is currently not on track to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. The targets announced in Paris would result in warming well above 3 degrees by 2100 compared to pre-industrial levels. If we continue as we are, temperatures will carry on rising, bringing even more catastrophic flooding, bush fires, extreme weather and destruction of species

““This is truly not about saving the planet, it’s about saving something that is incredibly unique in the evolution of the planet. … It is an objective fact that, if we continue on our current trajectory, humanity will suffer while the planet will continue to exist.”
— Christiana Figueres, Convenor of COP21 at COP26

“It comes down to this. The people alive now and the generation to come will look at this conference and consider one thing – did the number stop rising and start to drop as a result of commitments made here?

“There’s every reason to believe that the answer can be yes. If working apart we are forces powerful enough to destabilise our planet, surely working together we are powerful enough to save it.”

He added: “That desperate hope … is why the world is looking to you and why you are here.”
