Global Issues
What we are individually expresses itself globally. To be whole is to heal the world. A local action can impact the whole Earth. Science has shown there are just 7-steps or links in a chain that connects us to anyone and this idea can inspire us to reach out to bring about changes and to be the change we want to see in the world. And in acting together there is great power and potential to not just change but to transform life on Earth.
Local Actions
It’s through local actions that the solutions to global issues or problems are implemented. Our focus is on the positive, creative, innovative and empowering news and stories at the grass roots, individual and community level. WLT is a small team fed information by our large and growing network of readers, subscribers and contributing writers. We support local initiatives with free classifieds and directory listings.
Integral Life
Whole as a noun means something complete, without any parts missing, whereas integral is about a process of combining different parts into a whole. An integral life would thus involve local actions – waking up, growing up, showing up as Ken Wilber says – that have a positive impact on global issues. Like feeding a cow seaweed to reduce methane emmissons and reduce global warming.
Health & Well-being
Personal health – physical, mental, spiritual – ultimately is planetary health. It is the foundation of well-being and living a rich, meaningful and flourishing life. Medical science discoveries continue to extend human lifespan and wellness. WLT will share this information and explore ways we can enjoy and deploy our health revolution for the greater good, social and ecological.
Art, Beauty & harmony
Physical evolution has got us to where we are, but to go further requires us to awaken and evolve a greater intelligence, one that reveals itself in and through love, harmony and beauty. The art and science of being a fully realized human being, each and every one of us. There is a higher intelligence emerging that sees that there is only one of us. The creative and performing arts can be a vehicle for communicating this higher intelligence.
Community & Ecology
Aboriginal, Buddhist and recently Christian Theology see that we are more than just inter-dependent with the natural world. We are nature and we must re-allign our minds and actions to be in harmony with nature. To live sustainably we must design our communities to be ecologically sound. We also need to understand and take to heart the permaculture ethics of earth care, people care and fair share.
